The beaches of Naples

To visit Naples is to live it, not only culture and pizza but also beaches . In fact, guests can alternate museums and monuments with visits to the beaches . There are those who dive directly from via Caracciolo, the famous Neapolitan promenade in Posillipo where it extends from Mergellina to the Bay of Trentaremi and includes historical and famous places on the city coast such as Palazzo Donn'Anna, Flowery shore, Villa Rosebery, Marechiaro and the Gaiola Marine Archaeological Park. It is morphologically very varied and is characterized by a gradual transition from a heavily anthropized coast, with small beaches and docks surrounded by palaces and seaside villas, to a still natural coast with coves, small beaches carved out of tuffaceous banks and rocks protruding into the sea.
Otherwise it is possible to visit Coroglio-Bagnoli which has always represented the real beach of Naples and extends from the slopes of the Posillipo promontory to the border with Pozzuoli, including naturalistic places such as the island of Nisida and singular ones such as the “filled at sea” between the two long piers of the former Italsider and the Belvedere di Bagnoli. Known in antiquity for its thermal waters and for a natural vocation for the use of the sea, it is currently the subject of major urban transformations and redevelopment by the municipal administration, with interventions aimed at eliminating the impairments caused by the industrial exploitation of the 900 to return it to the city in its former natural splendour.
